Review: Ramzy Baroud's "The Second Palestinian Intifada"

An impassioned argument intended for an audience that will probably never read it. What is covered is only done so superficially. His empirical data is usually only a point of departure from which he can engage in an emotional appeal for the suffering of the Palestinians under occupation. Indeed, this book should be read not as a chronicle, but as a polemic.

Undermining Democracy, Empowering Autocracy

On February 1, 2006, Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, (R) Florida, introduced H.R. 4681, ostensibly designed "to promote the development of democratic institutions in areas under the administrative control of the Palestinian Authority." In fact, the resolution will isolate and marginalize the Palestinian Authority, and punish Palestinian civilians for electing Hamas into control of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC).
